A woman from Bishop Auckland has set up an organisation supporting people who face barriers to work, after being diagnosed with autism later in life.

Hiyed CIC has so far helped more than 100 people with learning disabilities, mental health issues and various other challenges find and secure work in its first 12 months, since its launch in November 2023.

The organisation is the brainchild of NHS mental health nurse turned social entrepreneur Tracy Fee, who set up the venture after her diagnosis.
